About Me
"The best things can't be told—they are transcendent, inexpressible truths. The second-best are misunderstood: they are metaphoric attempts to point the way toward the first. All that we can talk about is what is on this side of transcendence. And the problem is to open the words, to open the images so that they point past themselves." - Joseph Campbell
Originally from Apex, North Carolina, I currently live in Chattanooga, TN where I teach high school English and coach baseball. Educationally, I currently have a BA in English and a MA in Teaching, and am currently working on my MFA in poetry at Seattle Pacific University under Scott Cairns.

Rhysling Award (Nominee)
"In January 1978, Suzette Haden Elgin founded the Science Fiction Poetry Association, along with two of its visible cornerposts: the association's newsletter, Star*Line, and the Rhysling Awards. The Rhysling Awards are named for the blind poet Rhysling in Robert A. Heinlein’s short story “The Green Hills of Earth.” Rhysling’s skills were said to rival Rudyard Kipling’s. In real life, Apollo 15 astronauts named a crater near their landing site “Rhysling,” which has since become its official name. Nominees for each year's Rhysling Awards are selected by the membership of the Science Fiction Poetry Association."
